El Guiverno de Cristal es una de las criaturas disponibles en la expansión de mapa "Crystal Isles" de ARK: Survival Evolved. The Crystal Wyvern comes in 3 variants, the Tropical Crystal Wyvern Tropical Crystal Wyvern, the Ember Crystal Wyvern Ember Crystal Wyvern, and the Blood Crystal Wyvern Blood Crystal Wyvern.

Información básica

Comportamiento

Los Guivernos de Cristal son criaturas con comportamiento pasivo hasta que se les provoca. Los Herederos, por contra, son extremadamente agresivos y atacarán a cualquier cosa que entre en su campo de visión.

Aspecto

Crystal Wyverns appear very similar to what one would assume to be a stereotypical dragon. There are three different types of Crystal Wyverns, each with small but distinguishable variations in size, shape and color.

Tropical appears in White, blue and/or cyan.

Ember appears more yellowish, resembling its variant.

Blood appears with a more reddish hue.

This section displays the Wyvern de Cristal's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Wyvern de Cristal. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Wyvern de Cristal will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.

This information can be used to alter the Wyvern de Cristal's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID> in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor 0 6 would color the Wyvern de Cristal's "body main" magenta.

Combat

General

While the regular Crystal Wyvern only attacks when provoked through hitting it, the Crystal Wyvern Heir is highly territorial and fierce in defending its perceived airspace and its nest. It also has a notably more powerful bite; quite possibly the most dangerous challenge you can face short of a boss-level creature. Fighting one is definitely not for the faint of heart and flying a Crystal Wyvern is a thrill beyond comparison. To add on to the difficulty of attempting escape, the speed it possess outmatches even the regular Wyvern Wyvern.

Strategy

the strategy to crystal wyverns is trapping them, there are many local traps around the map that allow you to safely tranq it and tame it.

Weaponry

Dangers

All Crystal Wyverns has a different breath attack as follows:

Ember Crystal Wyverns fire a longer-ranged but narrower fiery breath which does more overall damage, and is additionally buffed by their Rage, which increases the more the fire breath is used.

Blood Crystal Wyverns fire a mid-range blood stream which deals decent damage and siphons health over time to all targets hit (inflicting "Blood Cursed!" effect at target whilst adding "Blood Curse Recovery!" to itself), healing the Blood Crystal Wyvern.

Tropical Crystal Wyverns fire a long range jet of water with high knockback and mediocre damage with "Scolded!" effect which reduces both HP and Stamina. They are additionally buffed by water similarly to Spinos.

It should be noted that all Crystal Wyverns other than Alpha and Heir variants are passive unless provoked, so it is advisable that unless the survivor is ready to fight them to leave them alone.

Weakness

Taming

For general information about domesticating a wild creature see Taming.

There are two ways of garnering a Crystal Wyvern: Either through raising from a stolen eggs from Heir variant of Crystal Wyverns from their nest (this can be circumvented with breeding two tamed/raised wyverns of the same variant), or passive taming them from anywhere with Primal Crystals.

Taming Food

Preferred Food

  • Crystal Crystal
  • Primal Crystal (Crystal Isles) Primal Crystal Crystal Isles Icon

Passive Tame Strategy

Crystal Wyverns (except Heirs and Alphas) can be tamed non-violently, rather than through the use of tranquilizers. They can be fed with Primal Crystal (Crystal Isles) Primal Crystals while nearby. Do be warned that they tend to fly fast, which makes it difficult to tame them without causing aggression. Using this way requires the survivor to be a minimum of level 65 in order to feed Crystal Wyverns, lower than that will prevent the survivor from actually feeding it. By placing a large creature in front of it, the player is able to jump on it's back where it can remain with out moving and able to feed while the wild wyvern flies around making the tame of it very fast. Alternately, a survivor can use a Grappling Hook Grappling Hook to be carried with the Crystal Wyvern as it flies; however, this method can be risky, as the survivor will take some damage as it weaves around. (It is strongly suggested Parachute Parachute be on the hotbar for those daring enough to attempt this!)

Raising

NOTE - Knockout data is given only for primal crystal gathering reasons.

Unlike most eggs, Crystal Wyvern eggs require a lot of heat to incubate properly; placing down any heat-emitting object such as Standing Torch Standing Torch or Campfire Campfire will work, but the most effective way is to use 12-14 Air Conditioner Air Conditioner.

A Crystal Wyvern Egg has a five hour incubation period. An additional 93 hours are needed for the baby to become fully grown.

Baby wyverns cannot be fed Raw Meat Raw Meat like most other carnivores; however, their food drops a lot slower. They require Crystal Crystal or Primal Crystal (Crystal Isles) Primal Crystal Crystal Isles Icon to increase their food and may ask for it when imprinting. Primal gives 1200 food to the baby Crystal Wyvern. A growing baby Wyvern will consume approximately 1 unit of food every 10 seconds, or 360 units of food an hour. This means that one feeding of Primal Crystal will sustain a baby Crystal Wyvern for about 3 hours and 20 minutes.

Primal Crystal is obtained by knocking out a crystal Wyvern, and the Crystal is simply harvested from the unconscious body. The amount of crystal inside the wyvern varies on their level, with higher levels more likely to have more crystal grown on it.

It's possible to build cages in which to trap Crystal Wyverns to make harvesting them easier. Be aware that re-knocking out a trapped crystal Wyvern does not give any more crystal immediately. Crystal Wyverns regenerate their lost crystal every hour.

An important detail about newly hatched Crystal Wyverns (especially at lower levels) is that even though the maximum food stated in the creature's statistics might be several thousand, the maximum food the baby can actually hold might be less than 1200 (the amount of food one Crystal Crystal or Primal Crystal (Crystal Isles) Primal Crystal Crystal Isles Icon delivers). This means that lower level baby Wyverns will never eat crystal on their own, and will have to be force fed Crystal Crystal or Primal Crystal (Crystal Isles) Primal Crystal Crystal Isles Icon until they can actually hold more than 1200 food. It is advisable to get the highest possible level for an egg. Crystal Wyvern eggs are NOT spawned randomly: the Crystal Wyvern Heirs will actually place the eggs as the egg level always corresponds to one of the Heirs nearby. However, it is still uncertain if the eggs spawn together with the Crystal Wyvern or if it is the Crystal Wyvern that places the egg sometime later.

Notes/Trivia

  • Crystal Wyverns are faster and have a tighter turning radius (faster turning) than their normal Wyvern Wyvern counterparts. However, their bite attack does less damage and their attack speed is slower.
  • Despite the Tropical Crystal Wyvern having water breath and getting water buffs it cannot swim in water.
  • Crystal Wyverns are one of the two creature that has more than one ways of taming other than breeding (Passive Taming and Egg Stealing), others being Diplodocus Diplodocus
  • Prior to 311.209 patch, Crystal Wyvern were non-transferable, non-cryo-freezable and non-cloneable.
